Dog-Friendly Apartments in Worcester, MA
Plenty of apartments say they’re “pet-friendly.” Far fewer are actually built with your dog in mind. The Kiln — a new community in Worcester’s Greendale neighborhood — is one of the few, right down to the off-leash dog park on site.
A dog park right outside your door
The hardest part of renting with a dog is usually everything around the apartment — where to walk, where to let them run, whether the building even wants them there. The Kiln removes that friction with an on-site, off-leash dog park, so a good run is a few steps from your door rather than a drive across town. It sits within the community’s landscaped grounds, alongside outdoor grilling stations, fire pits, and seating where residents gather.
The pet policy, in plain terms
No guessing games. Here’s what The Kiln’s pet policy actually says:
Up to two pets
You can have as many as two pets per apartment — cats, dogs, or one of each.
No weight limit
Unlike many communities that cap dogs at 25 or 50 pounds, The Kiln has no weight limit at all.
Monthly pet fees
Monthly pet fees apply for both cats and dogs. Ask the leasing team for current amounts.
Breed restrictions
Some dog breeds are restricted — see the list below or confirm with leasing.
Restricted dog breeds include, but aren’t limited to: Akitas, Chow Chows, Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, Mastiff breeds, Cane Corso, Pit Bulls (American Staffordshire Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers, American Bulldogs), Rottweilers, Wolf hybrids, and any mix of these. If your dog is a listed breed or a mix, check with the leasing team before you apply.
Built for pet owners’ real life
A dog-friendly building is about the small daily things, too. At The Kiln, in-unit laundry means the muddy-paw towels and dog beds get washed on your schedule, and the outdoor grilling and fire-pit areas give you and your dog a place to unwind after a walk. The whole community is designed for the way people — and their pets — actually live.

Greendale: a walkable corner of Worcester
Location makes or breaks dog ownership. The Kiln sits at 222 Brooks Street in Worcester’s quiet Greendale neighborhood, minutes from downtown and close to Green Hill Park — one of the city’s largest parks, with walking paths and open space that are a genuine gift when you have a dog. Cafes, breweries, and everyday errands are all close by.

The name isn’t decorative — Greendale is where the Norton Company was born, and it started with a kiln. In 1858 the Norton family ran a Worcester pottery shop; in 1873 a potter fired emery and clay in the Norton kiln and produced a working grinding wheel. By 1885 the founders had bought land in Greendale — then farmland — and built the plant that grew into the world’s largest abrasives maker.
The Kiln honors that heritage: a modern community on the ground where clay was once fired into industry.
